The trio travels to a farm to confront Dante Perrota, who is drugging horses to fix races. Salieri executes Perrota and takes possession of his goods. A few days later, they travel to a sulfur mine overseen by Alfio Zitelli, who leads them into an ambush. After a shootout, they capture Alfio, who informs Salieri of a gambling den in a gentlemen's club before Salieri kills him. Salieri then devises a plan to rob the club, even though it is against Torrisi's orders, and Cesare and a reluctant Enzo agree.

In December 1905, Don Ennio Salieri, recently released from prison, arrives at Don Bernardo Torrisi's vineyard seeking help. He explains that two former associates have stolen money from him. Torrisi agrees to let Enzo and Cesare assist, with strict instructions to keep the operation discreet. The three men travel to a farm where they confront Dante Perrota, who has been drugging horses to fix races. Salieri executes Perrota without hesitation and claims his goods. Days later, they visit a sulfur mine run by Alfio Zitelli, who ambushes them. After surviving the shootout, they capture Alfio, who reveals a gambling den in a gentlemen's club. Salieri kills Alfio and then proposes robbing the club—against Torrisi's explicit orders. Cesare agrees, and a reluctant Enzo goes along with the plan.
